Meeting Oklahoma's Greatest Unmet Need
For too many Oklahoma families, a mental health crisis begins with a terrifying reality: there is nowhere to go.
Mental health challenges are one of the most urgent – and too often overlooked – issues facing our state’s children. One in five Oklahoma youth struggle with mental health issues. Forty percent of youth who need mental health services aren’t receiving them due to lack of access.
Behind these numbers are real families searching for help, often during their most vulnerable moments. Long wait times, too few providers and a lack of pediatric-specific services can leave parents and caregivers feeling overwhelmed and unsure where to turn.

Where Students Find Their Place
The transition from high school to college is one of the most significant shifts a student faces. It is a time of endless possibilities and new challenges to navigate. Oftentimes, finding community and making friends at university plays a key role in success post-graduation.
At the University of Oklahoma, three premier student organizations – Henderson Scholars, President’s Community Scholars and the President’s Leadership Class – ensure our brightest minds don't just attend college; they find a home, a purpose and a pathway to lead.

Delivering Care Beyond the Clinic
When we think back to our childhoods, we often recall memories of simpler times, but for children living with type 1 diabetes, childhood is more complex. Time spent just being a kid must be carefully balanced with the demands of their condition.
The University of Oklahoma Health Harold Hamm Diabetes Center’s Camp Blue Hawk ensures these young people with diabetes have dedicated time and space to focus on the “just being a kid” aspect of life – and what better way to do that than summer camp?

Launching Oklahoma's Next Generation of Engineers
For many students, the transition to college can feel overwhelming. For future engineers and scientists, the academic rigor can be especially intense.
That’s why the Engineering Summer Bridge program at the Gallogly College of Engineering serves as a critical first step.

Healthcare Access for All
For many Oklahomans, the term “Bedlam” conjures up memories of a fierce, highly competitive rivalry.
But in this medical context, it means Oklahomans coming together. The Bedlam Clinics provide free healthcare for uninsured individuals who do not qualify for other assistance in the Tulsa community.

Comprehensive Compassion: The Far-Reaching Impact of a Lifelong Sooner
OU Giving Day is all about making an impact across the University of Oklahoma – and few embody that spirit better than Donna Neel.
As a first-generation college student, OU alumna, former student-athlete and lifelong educator, Donna Neel has an extensive list of affinities at OU.
She combines this love of softball, education and the university as a whole with her philanthropic efforts to ensure Sooners of tomorrow have access to the same opportunities and experiences she holds so dear.
